On June 11th, the 1847 Private Client Group team hosted clients for a special event titled “Birds & Brews”, which was an unforgettable evening featuring none other than Merrill Reese, the legendary voice of the Philadelphia Eagles.
For nearly five decades, Merrill Reese has served as the play-by-play announcer for the Eagles, making him the longest-tenured broadcaster in the NFL. His passionate calls, deep football knowledge, and unmistakable voice have become synonymous with Eagles football. A Philadelphia native and Temple University graduate, Merrill is beloved not just for his commentary, but for his enduring connection to the team and its fans.
At our event, Merrill brought his signature energy and enthusiasm as he shared his thoughts on the Eagles’ 2024 Super Bowl run. He reflected on key plays, players, and moments from the season and treated us to colorful stories from his decades behind the mic. From fond memories of coaches and athletes to a few humorous tales about those he wasn’t quite as fond of, his storytelling was as entertaining as it was insightful.
Before the program began, guests enjoyed food, drinks, and the chance to mingle with one another. Merrill himself graciously joined the crowd early and stayed after the event to answer questions and share more about his career.
Birds & Brews was a night to remember, filled with laughter, conversation, and a deeper appreciation for the game and the man who’s brought it to life for Eagles fans for nearly 50 years. We’re grateful to all who attended and made the evening so special.
